The project "Geologic Time Scale 2004" was completed by an ICS team. This multi-year project summarized the history and status of boundary definitions of all geologic stages, compiled integrated stratigraphy (biologic, chemical, sea-level, magnetic, etc.) for each period, and assembled a numerical age scale from an array of astronomical tuning and radiometric ages.
