Cenozoic and Neogene colors: Which are correct?

Postby Palaeocystodinium » December 7th, 2010, 7:17 am

In A Geologic Time Scale (Gradstein et al. 2004), Appendix 1 Recommended color coding of stages, Table A1.1, the rounded CMYK value for the Cenozoic is 5/0/100/0, and for the Neogene is 0/10/100/0.

However, the CMYK Color Code according to the Commission for the Geological Map of the World (CGMW)
https://engineering.purdue.edu/Stratigr ... s/CMYK.pdf
gives the codes as 5/0/90/0 and 0/10/90/0, respectively. In other words, the value for yellow is 90 instead of 100 on the 2008 version of CGMW.

The CGMW color value gives a slightly more greenish hue of yellow.

Which values are the official colors for the Cenozoic and Neogene?

Thanks
